About

I’m a thirty-something who currently lives in London, with plans to leave within the next year or two – ideally sooner rather than later. To this end I’m currently in the process of taking stock of a lifetime’s worth of collecting and downsizing as much as I can.

I was raised buying second-hand everything and taught that sustainable is always best if you can – but I’m a firm believer that this doesn’t always mean spending a lot of money.

With a background in fashion marketing and communication, in past lives I was a writer (mainly for The Face magazine in its first iteration) and a vintage clothing dealer (specialising in the British Boutique era), amongst other less-exciting pursuits.

One part of the lifetime’s accumulation of…stuff that will be coming with me no matter what is my record collection – music is a life long obsession of mine. I co-ran a successful club night for many years and still DJ from time to time.

The site name is a reference to the Sandy Denny album, The North Star Grassman and the Ravens, but you knew that already, didn’t you?
